A Comparative Review of Dramatic Dialogue in Houshang Golshiri's Lost Lamb of Raei novel and The Temptation by Grazia Deledda

Abstract

Dialogue dates back to the beginning of human speech and conversation. The first Dialogue was accompanied by action. Hence, drama, which has an action nature, has found its expression in the form of dialogue. Dialogue in a play or film is a Imaginary dramatic Speech that removes all the extras of the Dialogue. This type of dialogue has a certain set of goals and a limited time to achieve them. One of the functions of dramatic dialogue is to deepen the characters and advance the plot. This feature can also be used in a fiction; That is, while there is a difference between the dialogue element in the story and the drama; a fiction can have a dramatic dialogue, which means it has dramatic and adaptable demonstration. Therefore, in this study, two novels, The Lost Lamb of Raei by Hou The research method is descriptive-analytical and library and documentary. Examining this prominent theatrical element while confirming the theatrical capacity of these two works, showed that in these two novels, dialogue is one of the elements desired by these authors and has added to the dramatic burden of their works. Shang Golshiri and The Temptation by Grazia Deledda, have been studied in a comparative way from the perspective of dramatic dialogue. With these descriptions, these two works can be considered as a source for cinematic or theatrical adaptation.
