Abstract
Panjatantreh is a valuable and influential literary book that contains ancient instructive anecdotes.. Panjatantreh, the work of the great Indian master Pandit Wishno Shermeh traces back to 200 BC. Examining this work with an interdisciplinary approach on the subject of identity provides the basis for analyzing the impact dimensions of this work in the texts after it. Analyzing the content of thoese stories, we get to know the identity of created characters because narrative characters are often influenced by society and Influence the formation of events. In this study, through content analysis method and by relying on library resoureces, the identity of characters in Panjatantreh is shown from different aspects in order to get the dimensions and forms of their identity. The types of identities based on textual evidence including individual, social, political, religious, national, ethnic and gender identities are described. Findings showed non-individual identities are the most applicable compared to individual identity and identity evidence has been consistent with the moral principles and human values prevalent at the time of the author, which proves the educational structure of the work.
